La Nation Seneca maintient fermement sa position selon laquelle la l\u00e9gislature de l'\u00c9tat de New York a viol\u00e9 le contrat de jeu qu'elle avait conclu avec elle. Vendredi dernier, le 23 avril 2021, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 tribale a fait savoir qu'elle avait demand\u00e9 un sursis f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de 45 jours concernant ses pr\u00e9tendues obligations financi\u00e8res \u00e0 l'\u00e9gard de l'\u00c9tat. La somme s'\u00e9l\u00e8ve aujourd'hui \u00e0 $1 milliard de dollars am\u00e9ricains en paiements de partage des revenus.<\/p>\n

Le diff\u00e9rend juridique entre les deux parties se poursuit depuis un certain temps. Le contrat de jeu a \u00e9t\u00e9 sign\u00e9 en 2002 et pr\u00e9voit que la tribu doit partager une partie de ses revenus de jeu avec l'\u00c9tat. Cependant, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 affirme que l'\u00c9tat a viol\u00e9 le contrat en le prolongeant, ce qui a conduit la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9rindienne \u00e0 refuser d'honorer ses obligations financi\u00e8res.<\/p>\n

Demande de sursis f\u00e9d\u00e9ral<\/h2>\n

Le d\u00e9bat financier continue de s'enliser entre les deux parties, puisque vendredi dernier, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 tribale a officiellement annonc\u00e9 qu'elle soumettait une demande d'aide financi\u00e8re \u00e0 l'Union europ\u00e9enne. 45-s\u00e9jour f\u00e9d\u00e9ral<\/strong> concernant les paiements. L'accord sur les jeux de classe III et ses dispositions en mati\u00e8re de paiement seront r\u00e9vis\u00e9s par le minist\u00e8re de l'int\u00e9rieur des \u00c9tats-Unis, qui fera prochainement le point sur la question.<\/p>\n

Le pr\u00e9sident de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 tribale, Matthew Pagels, a r\u00e9cemment fait part de ses r\u00e9flexions sur la question qui oppose les deux parties.
