New York State commercial casino locations are still anticipating the day they will have the chance to reopen and welcome casino patrons for the first time in months. They will have the chance to do so with the official start of Phase Four of the business reopening plan the government has worked on. Some tribal venues have already launched their daily operation.
Across the state, commercial casino locations and gambling halls remain closed for business and this situation has been in progress ever since mid-March. Batavia Downs Gaming Chief Executive Officer Henry Wojtaszek made it clear that the past fifteen weeks have taken their toll on the local gaming field, depriving it of in-person gaming offerings whatsoever.
Reopening Comes Soon
For the time being, horse racing has been a glimpse of hope for the gaming field, as live races could support the horse people who has also been through a lot over the past few months. However, for the time being, Batavia Downs has not unveiled its 2020 live schedule with events. The only thing that is for sure is that live events will have to take place without spectators on the premises.
They will have the chance to watch everything happening with the help of the live streams following everything happening and even providing more dynamic points of view for the spectators. Mr. Wojtaszek stated that the restaurant areas associated with the casino venue, as well as the hotel are now open and their operation is expected to support the future operation of Batavia Downs.
However, despite the reopening of businesses, in-person casino gaming is still prohibited across commercial casinos of New York State. The first thing casino venue management has to take into account is the safety of both its patrons and the staff members working with individuals on a daily basis. The safety measures that will be introduced have to be comprehensive and well-rounded ones.
Preparation in Progress
Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack is also preparing for the official reopening and working in close collaboration with New York State Gaming Commission. The preparation for the reopening in the upcoming months is in progress, as various safety protocols and measures are being introduced. It follows strictly its Play it Safe program that would oversee the process and guarantee its reliability.
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines are being closely monitored and followed by the venues. In the meantime, Del Lago Resort and Casino is also among the commercial casino facilities preparing for the time when they will be granted permission to launch in-person gambling. The premium casino location has worked on its reopening plan and perfected it over the past weeks.
It has been devised in collaboration with stakeholders and it aims to meet the existing CDC and OSHA health recommendations. In the meantime, June 18 saw the official return of in-person gaming at Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino. Both Class II and Class III locations are going to be affected by the reopening plans. June 25 saw the reopening of Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino. July 2 will welcome back Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino in Salamanca.
