Le casino de New York cherche à recruter des croupiers

This December, Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady revealed that it is currently looking to make some additions to its staff members. On December 21, 2021, the upstate gaming property announced that it will need to recruit more table games dealers. The casino even offers its Dealer Academy training course for free to provide applicants with the needed training and knowledge for the job.

The Dealer Academy will be available to only 40 individuals who have applied and have been approved to enter the six-week training program. Usually, the course costs US$5,000 but now it will be free of charge, and it will be held at the casino’s training center at 220 Harborside Drive, Suite #201, Schenectady, NY 12305.

Further Details

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady reminds that in order for candidates to be eligible for the positions and the course, they need to be at least 21 years of age. The course will begin on January 3, 2021, and classes will be held from 2:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday over the course of six weeks.

After the course, the approved candidates who receive the position of table games dealer will be awarded a contract worth US$20 per hour or more. It is set to include benefits packages, such as medical, dental, and vision insurance. It will also feature paid time off, tuition reimbursement, company-matched 401K plans, and shuttle bus service from the nearby CDTA blue line bus stop.

During the six-week course, applicants must learn how to deal cards for blackjack and other table games. After the end of the training, candidates must pass a final audition and earn their New York State gaming license, before being offered one of the full-time or part-time positions at the Schenectady property. The interested must also be willing to work on weekends and holidays.

Also, in December, the upstate casino managed to contribute over US$17,100 to charity from its PINKtober Stay, Eat and Drink Pink breast cancer awareness campaign. The donation was made to the American Cancer Society, to help the organization in its battle against breast cancer. Also, the money will fund more innovative cancer research, as well as provide greater education and guidance for people to reduce the risks.

Possibility of One More Property in NYS

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is operated by Rush Street Gaming, and it was recently reported that the company eyes one more casino license in the Empire State. Currently, the New York State Gaming Commission is looking to award three more commercial casino licenses in downstate New York, and the company has already submitted its bid to the regulator.

Rush Street Gaming is quite optimistic about its chances of landing such a license and it predicts that it can replicate its success from the Schenectady property. Its Chairman and CEO, respectively Neil Bluhm and Greg Carlin, ont exprimé leur soutien for the state’s endeavor of the acceleration of downstate licenses and awarding them sooner, as a way of generating more revenue for the state’s budget, during these trying times.
