La Société des loteries et jeux de l'Ontario a une fois de plus fait du troisième trimestre de l'exercice fiscal en cours une période spéciale pour les municipalités hôtes des casinos. Grâce à l'accord de contribution étendu conclu avec les municipalités, celles-ci ont obtenu de généreuses allocations de revenus de casino. La ville de Windsor fait partie de ces communautés qui ont reçu un total de $2 158 545.
Casino host communities welcome many patrons from neighboring communities, as well as keep their residents entertained with the help of the premium brick-and-mortar casinos they boast. Such allocations of gaming revenue support the community to continue supporting the venue in question. The City of Windsor was among the lucky areas benefitting from the regular allocation of funds.
Municipality Contribution Agreement
The third quarter of this fiscal year witnessed a non-tax gaming revenue allocation reaching $2,158,545 for the daily operation of Caesars Windsor. The period in question is between October 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance, pointed out that brick-and-mortar casinos will return to their regular operation with patrons as soon as safety restrictions are lifted.
Caesars Windsor operates in the region ever since 1994 and over this period it has managed to amass some $72 million in non-tax gaming revenue. The Town of Innisfil is another community that recently benefited from its casino hotspot. It bagged some 1,823,041 for the daily operation of Gateway Casinos Innisfil. Individuals feel drawn towards this venue, which explains its great performance over this recent quarter.
Andrea Khanjin, Member of Provincial Parliament for Barrie-Innisfil, expressed her satisfaction with the payment received. The amount is set to be used for various local projects and improve local people’s life, as Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation strives to do. Gateway Casinos Innisfil operates in full swing ever since November 2001. Over this period of time, the hotspot has managed to attract some $92 million to the city coffers of Innisfil.
OLG Allocated Revenue
The Town of Milton was also among the beneficiaries of land-based casino revenue allocations in Ontario. Individuals often make their way to Elements Casino Mohawk and give their luck a try. The Crown corporation keeps its promises and respects the Municipality Contribution Agreement inked with the community. This is the reason why it received some $2,000,691 at the end of the third quarter.
Parm Gill, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton, expressed satisfaction and gratitude towards the gaming leader. A slice of the money will go straight to the Town of Milton Community Fund, which supports a wide range of community organizations and programs. Elements Casino Mohawk opened in August 1999 and since then, Milton has bagged some $126.7 million in non-tax gaming revenue.
Brantford is the last municipality we will discuss today, as it was also among the recipients of allocations. Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation send an $848,980 payment to the city coffers. It comes as a result of the daily operation of Elements Casino Brantford. It launched operation in November 1999 and over the years, it attracted some $90 million in casino revenue allocations.
